Ingredients

  • 1 quart plus 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 5 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 2 Tbsp. celery seed
  • 2 Tbsp. mustard seed
  • 16 to 20 medium cucumbers cut into chunks

Directions

    Mix all ingredients and boil for five minutes.

    Pack your pickle chunks into pint jars.

    Pour the juice over and fill jars leaving 1/2
  4. 4
    inch of space at top of jar.
  5. 5
    Wash off the top of the jar and put lid and ring on jar.

    Put into canner and cover jars with hot water.
  7. 7
    Make sure they boil for five minutes.

    Take jars out of canner and put on dry cloth to cool.

    Makes about 10 pints.
