- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 1/2 c. boiling water
- 1 c. quick cooking oats
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. light molasses
- 3 tsp. salt
- 2 beaten eggs
- 5 1/2 c. sifted flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water (110°).

2Combine 1 1/2 cups water, oats, shortening, molasses and salt.

3Cool to lukewarm.

4Add softened yeast; mix well.

5Blend in eggs.

6Add flour; mix thoroughly until dough is blended.

7(It will be softer than kneaded dough.)

8Place in a greased bowl; turn once to grease surface.

9Cover.

10Store in refrigerator at least 2 hours.

11Shape in 2 loaves on well floured surface; place in greased 9 x 5 1/4 x 2 3/4-inch loaf pans; cover.

12Let rise in warm place (80° to 85°) until double, about 2 hours.

13Bake at 375° for 1 hour.
