  • 1 head red cabbage, cored and shredded
  • 1 onion, peeled and sliced thin
  • 1 apple, peeled and chopped
  • 1 potato, peeled and finely chopped
  • 1 c. cider vinegar
  • 1 c. dry red wine or water
  • 3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. allspice

    Simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally until cabbage is tender.
