Ingredients

  • 1 c. crushed Shredded Wheat
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 c. melted shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. Bran Buds or All-Bran
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 2 Tbsp. honey
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 1/2 c. flour

Directions

    Combine Shredded Wheat and boiling water.

    Add following in the order given and mix well while adding: 1/2 cup buttermilk, honey, shortening, sugar, eggs, baking soda, remaining buttermilk, Bran Buds and flour.

    Store in refrigerator up to 5 weeks.

    Or place in muffin tins and bake at 375° for 25 minutes.

    Makes 24 muffins.
