- 1 lb. large dry lima beans
- 3 1/2 c. water
- 3 thin slices round steak
- salt
- pepper
- 2 slices bacon
- 1 small onion
- 6 thin slices dill pickle
- 2 Tbsp. butter
Directions

1Rinse dry beans; add water and boil 2 minutes.

2Cover; let stand 1 hour.

3Pound round steak to flatten.

4Sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper.

5Cut each slice of beef in two; chop bacon and onion.

6Sprinkle on beef along with one slice of dill pickle. Roll up tightly and tie with string.

7Brown in butter.

8Heat limas to boiling; add 1 teaspoon salt and pour over browned meat rolls. Cover closely; simmer 1 1/2 hour, adding a little water as needed.
