  • 1 c. cooking oil
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. pecans
  • 1 c. canned figs, diced
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. each: soda, nutmeg, baking powder, cinnamon, allspice and vanilla

    Mix oil and sugar; add eggs and add buttermilk and flour alternately.

    Mix remaining ingredients.

    Bake in 2 (9-inch) pans or 11 x 9-inch pan at 375° for 25 minutes.
