Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 cake yeast
  • 1 1/4 c. scalded lowfat milk
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. raisins
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Cinnamon to taste

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in scalded lowfat milk (tepid).

    Add in 1 1/2 c. flour.

    Mix till smooth.

    Let stand till light and fluffy.

    Add in Large eggs, sugar, butter, salt and remaining flour and cinnamon.

    Mix to a stiff dough, knead thoroughly.

    Let stand till double.

    Bake about 30 min at 350 degrees.

    NOTE: I like to divide in three parts---braid (as you would your hair) and put it on a cookie sheet to bake.

    Make-up a small amount of icing as you would for cookies and pour on top area.
