- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/3 c. safflower oil
- 2/3 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 475° (very hot).

2Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.

3Pour oil and milk into measuring cup, but do not stir. Pour all at once into flour.

4Stir with fork until mixture cleans sides of bowl and rounds up into a ball.

5Smooth by kneading dough about 10 times without any additional flour.

6With dough on waxed paper, press out 1/4-inch thick with hands or roll between waxed paper.

7Cut with unfloured biscuit cutter.

8Bake 10 to 12 minutes on ungreased baking sheet.

9Makes 12 biscuits.
