- 1/2 c. water (110~ to 115~)
- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 c. lukewarm milk
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 c. soft shortening
- 5 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1Measure 1/2 cup water into mixing bowl.

2Add yeast, stirring to dissolve.

3Stir in remaining ingredients.

4Beat until smooth (100 strokes).

5Cover.

6Let rise until very light (1 hour).

7Beat down; pour into greased 10-inch tube pan.

8Let rise to within 1-inch of top of pan (45 minutes).

9Bake until golden brown and crusty.

10Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes.

11Makes 16 servings.
