Ingredients

  • 5 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 12 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 cup blackberry jam with seeds
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

    In large mixing bowl cream butter well add sugar slowly until fluffy.

    Add well beaten eggs to mixing bowl with sugar and butter mixture.

    Mix in a separate bowl flour, salt, spices and baking soda alternate mixing this into egg mixture with buttermilk.

    Coat the raisins and walnuts well with flour before folding them into the batter mixture.

    Add in Jam and mix well.

    Pour batter into pan or pans and bake at 325 degrees for one hour or until center springs back.
