  • 2/3 c butter
  • 1 1/2 c sugar
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 1/4 c flour
  • 1/2 c cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp soda
  • c water
  • 2/3 c sauerkraut

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Beat in eggs.

    Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with water.

    rinse, drain, chop and stir in the sauerkraut.

    Bake at 350° about 30 minutes.
