  • 1/2 lb. bulk sausage
  • 1 1/2 c. buttermilk baking mix
  • 4 oz. coarsely grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. each: pepper, dried thyme and ground ginger

    In a 6-inch skillet cook sausage 6 to 8 minutes over moderate heat, breaking it up with a spoon until meat is no longer pink and most of the fat has cooked out.
