Ingredients
- 1 1/4 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 c. quick or old fashioned oats
- 1/3 c. milk
- 1/8 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1/4 c. currants or raisins
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

2Cut in shortening and butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs, then mix in oats and currants.

3Add milk, mixing just until dry ingredients are moistened.

4Turn dough onto lightly floured surface and knead gently 5 times.

5Roll to form a 6 or 7-inch circle. Brush dough with 1 tablespoon melted butter and sprinkle with mixture of sugar and cinnamon.

6Cut into 6 pie shaped wedges. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375° for about 15 minutes.

7Serve warm with clotted cream or marmalade.
