Sesame Brittle

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon Ghee +1/2 tsp for greasing
  • 1/3 cup Jaggery
  • 1 1/2 cups Peanuts coarsely crushed or roasted sesame seeds

Directions

    Take ghee in deep pan on medium high heat and once the ghee melts add the jaggery. Let the jaggery melt stirring continuously and once it reaches hard ball stage, remove form heat.

    As soon as you remove it from heat add the roasted sesame seeds or if you are making it with peanuts then slightly toasted and crushed peanuts. Mix well.

    Spread this mixture onto the greased surface and roll it out with the help of rolling pin.

    Cut them into pieces, in few seconds before it cools completely. And, store it in an air-tight container.

    This brittle with Jaggery is much more nutritious compared to the one with sugar.
