  • 3 c. sugar
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1 stick butter
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. each flavoring: vanilla, lemon, orange, pineapple, coconut, butter and rum

    Sift flour and baking powder together.

    Cream butter and margarine with sugar.

    Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well with mixer.

    Add flour and milk alternately and beat well after adding each ingredient.

    Fold in flavorings with spoon; do not beat. Grease and flour tube pan.

    Pour in pan and place in 350° oven. Do not preheat oven.

    Bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

    Do not open oven before 1 hour has passed.

    Test cake with toothpick.

    If toothpick comes out clean, cake is done.
