  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 3 or 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Preheat oven to 400°.

    Mix sugar and flour together in a large bowl.

    Heat butter, cocoa, water and shortening in saucepan until it reaches boiling point. Pour hot mixture over dry ingredients and add buttermilk with soda in it.

    Add eggs, vanilla and cinnamon.

    Mix well. Pour batter into 11 x 15 x 1-inch pan.

    Bake 25 to 30 minutes.
