- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 Tbsp. minced onion
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 c. bread crumbs or oatmeal
- 1 can English peas or peas and carrots, drained
- 1/2 to 3/4 c. grated cheese
- 1 c. water
- 1 1/2 c. instant mashed potato flakes
- 1 c. milk
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. minced onion
- 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
Directions

1Combine the first 6 ingredients and press into a 9-inch pie plate (bottom and sides).

2Bake for 15 minutes in a 425° oven. Pour off fat.

3Pour the peas or peas and carrots into shell. Sprinkle with the cheese.

4Boil the water.

5Add the potato flakes, milk, egg, butter, salt, onion and garlic salt.

6Mix thoroughly. (May need to add more potatoes if too thin or more milk if too thick.)

7Cover pie with potato mixture. Sprinkle with paprika. Bake again for 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
