  • cabbage (medium size)
  • thinly sliced onions
  • 7/8 c. sugar
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 3/4 c. salad oil
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 tsp. celery seed

Directions

    Shred cabbage (medium size) alternating it with thinly sliced onions.

    Top with 7/8 cup sugar.

    Bring remaining ingredients to boiling point.

    Pour over cabbage while still hot.

    Let stand 4 to 6 hours, then mix and serve.

    It is even better after 2 or 3 days. It will keep for 2 or 3 weeks in the refrigerator.
