- 2 lb. round steak or equivalent, sliced into 1 1/2 to 2 inch strips
- salt
- pepper
- garlic powder
- flour
- 2 cans tomato sauce or 1 can each tomato sauce and stewed tomatoes
- onion
- bell pepper
- 1 can mushrooms
- oil for frying
Directions

1Mix flour and seasonings together.

2Coat meat that has been cut into strips.

3In oil or butter, saute onion and pepper that have been cut into strips.

4Add mushrooms.

5Put vegetables aside and brown coated meat.

6After cooking meat on both sides, reduce heat and add tomato sauce or stewed tomatoes (if desired).

7Simmer until beef is thoroughly cooked and tender, 45 minutes to 1 hour.

8Sauce should be fairly thick.

9If it's not, you may add a small (1 to 2 tablespoons) amount of flour to thicken.
