  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 3/4 c. butter
  • 1/3 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
  • 1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
  • 1/3 c. evaporated milk

Directions

    Combine cake mix, butter and milk.

    Press 1/2 of this into a 9 x 13-inch cake pan (slightly greased).

    Bake for 5 minutes at 350°.

    Remove and sprinkle on nuts and chocolate chips.

    Melt together caramels and evaporated milk.

    Pour over the chocolate mixture.

    Spread the rest of cake mix batter over the top.

    Bake for 20 minutes at 350°.

    Don't overbake.

    Cool and refrigerate.
