- 2 c. milk
- 3 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Scald milk in a saucepan over low heat or in a double boiler. Beat eggs and add to scalded milk, stirring constantly.

2Place in top of a double boiler and cook over simmering water until the custard thickens.

3Let set in a pan of cold water or by pouring the custard into a chilled bowl.

4Stir in vanilla.

5Cover with foil or plastic wrap and refrigerate.

6Yields 4 servings.
