Ingredients

  • 1 head lettuce
  • 1/2 c. celery, finely chopped
  • 1/2 c. green peppers, finely chopped
  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas (unthawed)
  • 1 c. Hellmann's mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 6 hard-boiled eggs, sliced thin
  • 4 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 lb. crumbled bacon (8 slices)
  • 1 onion, chopped or sliced

Directions

    Tear lettuce and place in bottom of bowl (use clear bowl as salad is colorful).

    Put layers of celery, peppers, onion and peas.

    Spread mayonnaise over peas.

    Sprinkle sugar over mayonnaise.

    Add eggs, cheese and bacon.

    Cover lightly with Saran Wrap.

    Store overnight in refrigerator.

    Uncover; sprinkle with croutons.

    To serve, toss or dig deep.
