Sour Cherry Pineapple Salad

  • 1 envelope plain gelatin
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. lemon jello
  • grated rind and juice of 1 orange
  • grated rind and juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. chopped pecans
  • 1 large can sour pitted cherries
  • 1 large can crushed pineapple
  • few drops red food coloring

Directions

    Drain juice from cherries; add lemon and orange juice, sugar and jello; bring to boil.

    Add gelatin which has been dissolved in 1/4 cup cold water; stir until thoroughly dissolved and mixed; cool.

    Add cherries, undrained pineapple, grated rinds, food coloring and nuts.

    Turn into large or individual molds and chill until firm.

    Yields 12 to 14 servings.
