Ingredients
- 1 c. milk or water
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. vegetable oil
- 1 packet active yeast
- 1 1/2 c. Starter
- 2 to 3 Tbsp. warm water
- 4 to 5 c. flour
Directions

1Scald milk.

2Add sugar, shortening and salt.

3Stir to mix thoroughly.

4Dissolve yeast in 2 to 3 tablespoons warm water.

5Let it bubble to ensure it is working.

6Add to milk mixture along with 2 cups of flour.

7Stir and keep adding flour to make a dough that can be handled easily.

8Knead for 5 to 8 minutes, then cut into pieces to fill pans 1/2 full.

9Be sure to grease pans.

10Let rise to twice its size in warm place.

11Bake in 400° oven for 35 to 45 minutes to a good golden brown.
