  • 1 whole (2 1/2 To 3 Lb. Size) Pork Shoulder Or Butt, Trimmed
  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 1 cup Sweet Apple Cider
  • 1/2 cups Water
  • 3 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 13 cups Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Smoked Paprika
  • 2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
  • 2 Tablespoons Minced Garlic
  • 1 Tablespoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Hot Pepper Flakes
  • 6 whole Buns, For The Sandwiches
  • 1 cup Cider Vinegar
  • 1/2 cups Ketchup
  • 13 cups Soft Brown Sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons Mustard Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 1 clove Garlic, Smashed
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne Powder
  • 2 pinches Sea Salt And Cracked Pepper

    For the pork: Put pork in a slow cooker.

    In a large bowl, combine all remaining marinade ingredients.

    Pour over the pork, rubbing in.

    Cover and cook on medium for 8 hours.

    When done, shred the meat with a couple of forks.

    Add sauce and mix until well combined.

    Serve with warm buns and your favourite fixings.

    For the sauce: Whisk together all ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring often.

    Once smooth, remove from heat and cool until ready.
