Split Pea Soup

- 2 qt. water
- 1 lb. split peas
- 1 lg. onion, chopped
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1 cup potatoes, diced
- 1 to 2 carrots, shredded
- 1/8 tsp. Worchestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. celery seed
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 to 1 tsp. pepper
Directions

1In large soup kettle, cover peas with 2 quarts water.

2Simmer for 2 minutes.

3Remove from heat.

4Add remaining ingredients.

5Mix.

6Simmer on low heat (do not boil) for 3-4 hours.

7When peas are tender, run 1/3 to 1/2 of soup through blender.

8Mix blended and unblended soups together.

9Adjust seasonings to taste.
