  • 10 c. squash
  • 4 c. onions
  • 5 Tbsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 c. vinegar
  • 5 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. dry mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 green pepper

    Grind squash.

    Grind onions.

    Cover with salt.

    Let stand 30 minutes.

    Drain; add vinegar, sugar, dry mustard, turmeric and pepper.

    Cut up red and green peppers.

    Cook 30 minutes.

    Yields 5 to 7 pints.
