Sugared Pecans

Ingredients

  • 1 qt. shelled pecan halves
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2/3 c. water
  • grated rind of 1 orange

Directions

    Mix sugar and water and boil together until syrup spins a thread, then continue cooking slowly until mixture reaches soft ball stage.

    Remove from heat.

    Add grated orange rind and stir until foamy.
  4. 4
    Stir in shelled pecans, being sure candy coats each one.

    Pour onto lightly greased dish.
  6. 6
    Nuts may be separated using 2 forks while candy is still warm or you may let candy cool and harden, then break into lumps.
