Taco Casserole

  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 2 Tablespoons Diced Onion
  • 1 package Low Sodium Taco Seasoning, 1 Ounce Packet
  • 1/2 cups Water
  • 1 can (8 Oz. Size) Tomato Sauce
  • 10 whole Hard Corn Shells
  • 2 cups Grated Cheddar Cheese

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350 F.

    In a skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef and onion.

    When meat is browned and onions softened, drain off any excess fat.
  4. 4
    Add the taco seasoning, water and tomato sauce.

    Simmer on low for 10 minutes.

    In a lightly greased 11x7 inch casserole dish place 5 taco shells that you have broken up into pieces.

    Spoon half of the meat mixture over the shells and sprinkle 1 cup of the cheese over the top of that.

    Break up the remaining 5 shells and place them over the top, then top that with remaining beef mixture and the last cup of cheese.

    Bake uncovered at 350 F for approximately 20-25 minutes or until cheese is melted and the casserole is hot all the way through.

    Serves 4 to 6.
