- 1 lb. lean ground turkey
- 1/2 c. green pepper, chopped
- 3/4 c. kidney beans, cooked
- 3 medium tomatoes, peeled and chopped
- 1 (16 oz.) can no-salt tomato paste
- 1/8 tsp. ground red pepper (optional)
- 1/2 c. chopped onions
- 1 clove minced garlic
- 1 c. water
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
Directions

1In a large, heavy pot, brown turkey; pour off any excess fat. Add onions, green pepper and garlic; cook 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.

2Add beans, water, tomatoes, tomato paste, chili powder, oregano, cumin and red pepper.

3Cover; simmer for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.

4Serve with cornbread.
