- 1 c. dry split peas (either green or yellow)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced or pressed
- 1 green jalapeno chili, minced*
- 1/4 c. frozen green peas
- 1 tsp. salt or to taste
- 1/4 tsp. red pepper (optional)
Directions

1Soak split peas overnight in enough water to cover.

2Place the soaked peas in a blender or food processor and grind to form a coarse paste.

3Add water sparingly when needed.

4Pour paste in bowl.

5Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
