- 1 peck small dill size cucumbers, cut in 1-inch chunks
- 1 gal. cold water
- 2 c. salt
- 2 Tbsp. alum
Directions

1Soak cucumbers in cold water and salt for 7 days.

2Stir every morning so as not to get a scum.

3On the eighth day, drain and rinse.

4Soak for 24 hours in 1 gallon cold water to 2 tablespoons alum.

5Drain well.
