- 1/4 c. butter
- 1/4 c. light cream
- 1/3 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- dash of salt
- 3/4 c. finely chopped walnuts
- 1/2 c. finely chopped candied orange peel
- 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
Directions

1Combine butter, cream and brown sugar in saucepan; heat slowly until butter melts.

2Remove from heat, stir in flour and salt and blend until smooth.

3Stir in walnuts and orange peel.

4Drop by rounded teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet.

5Flatten lightly with back of spoon.

6Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes.

7Let stand 1 or 2 minutes on cookie sheet then remove with spatula to wire rack to cool.

8When cool, melt chocolate and spread bottoms of cookies with thin layer of chocolate.
