White Floating Lye Soap

Directions

   Mix 1-quart of warm water and can of lye; let cool.

   This will boil when mixed.

   Use crock jar only.

   Mix warm lard, ammonia and Borax, mixed with 1/4 cup warm water.

   Add lye mixture to second mixture and mix good.

   Do not use any plastic or metal containers. Use crock jars or granite.

   Also use wooden spoons.

   Beat until thick.

   Pour into a granite pan or a small wood box and let cool. Cut and let set 5 weeks before you use it.
