- 2 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. dairy cream
- 1/4 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 Tbsp. white corn syrup
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1/3 c. candied cherries
Directions

1Combine sugar, cream, milk, butter, corn syrup and salt in heavy 2-quart saucepan.

2Stir over moderate heat until sugar is dissolved and mixture reaches a boil.

3Boil 9 or 10 minutes (soft ball).

4Remove from heat and let stand until lukewarm.

5Add vanilla and beat until mixture begins to lose its gloss. (Requires little beating.)

6Quickly stir in walnuts and cherries. Turn into oiled pans.

7Let stand until firm.

8Makes 1 1/2 pounds.
