  • 1 large head lettuce
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • 1/2 lb. bacon, diced and fried (saving the grease)
  • 1/3 c. cider vinegar
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 2/3 c. water
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

    Wash lettuce and chop.

    Put in a good size bowl.

    Sprinkle the green onions on top.

    Mix together vinegar, sugar, water, salt and pepper in a small bowl.

    Have the bacon and drippings hot.

    Pour vinegar and sugar mixture over the lettuce and mix to coat.

    Take the hot bacon and drippings and pour over the lettuce right before serving.
