- 1/4 c. Crisco
- 1 c. lukewarm water
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 envelopes dry yeast
- 3 c. plain flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. dry milk or Cremora
- 1/4 c. butter, softened
Directions

1Preheat oven to 425°.

2Grease a 10 x 14-inch pan.

3Melt Crisco; cool.

4Mix water, sugar and yeast; dissolve thoroughly. Stir together dry ingredients in a large bowl.

5To the flour mixture, add shortening and water/yeast mixture all at once.

6Stir just enough to moisten.

7Knead lightly on floured board.

8Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness.

9Spread with softened butter, fold and re-roll. Cut into squares or rounds and place close together on baking pan.

10Let rise.

11Bake at 425° for 8 to 10 minutes.
