- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/4 c. water
- 1 c. milk, scalded
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1 egg
Directions

1Soften dry yeast in warm water.

2Combine milk, sugar, salt and shortening .

3Cool to lukewarm.

4Add 1 cup flour and beat well.

5Beat in yeast and egg.

6Gradually add remaining flour to form soft dough, kneading well.

7Cover and let rise in warm place until dough doubles.

8Turn onto floured surface and shape as desired.

9Bake at 375° for 20 minutes.

10Makes approximately 12 rolls.
