Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 3/4 c. warm water
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 8 to 9 c. flour, sifted

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in warm water.

    Pour boiling water over butter, sugar, cold water, egg and yeast.

    Stir.

    Add flour and salt. Knead and place in greased bowl.

    Let rise until double in bulk. Knead and shape into rolls or loaf.

    Let rise again and bake for 20 minutes at 350°.

    Brush with butter after removing from oven.
