  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 7 c. flour

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in 1/3 cup warm water.

    Add 2 cups of water, salt, egg, sugar and shortening.

    Put flour as needed, about 7 cups.

    Spread mixture on floured board.

    Knead dough until smooth and elastic.

    Place in oiled bowl, turning to oil surface.

    Cover with damp cloth.

    Place in refrigerator until needed.

    Shape dough into rolls.

    Place on greased baking pan.

    Let rise in warm place until doubled in bulk.

    Bake in 375° oven for 10 to 25 minutes. Yield: 24 rolls.
