- 5 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 Tbsp. warm water
Directions

1Sift flour and measure.

2Sift again with dry ingredients into a large bowl.

3Cut in shortening.

4Add buttermilk and yeast, dissolved in warm water.

5Mix well.
-
6Pat or roll out on floured wax paper.

7Cut and cook on greased pan in 425° oven for 15 minutes.

8This does not need to rise and will keep well in refrigerator several days.
