- 6 lb. apples
- 1 c. apple juice or cider
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
Directions

1Quarter, core and peel apples.

2Put in a large saucepan with the apple juice and cook over low heat, partly covered, until very soft, about 1 1/2 hours.

3Puree in a food processor until very smooth.

4Return to the saucepan and stir in sugar and spices. Cook, uncovered, over very low heat until dark brown and very thick, about 1 1/2 hours.

5Stir occasionally to prevent sticking and burning.

6Put in jars, cover and refrigerate up to 1 month.
