Ingredients

  • 8 c. torn lettuce
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 c. finely chopped celery
  • 1/4 c. thinly sliced red onion
  • 1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms
  • 2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 3/4 c. frozen peas, thawed
  • 2 c. mayo
  • 3 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese

Directions

    Layer first 5 ingredients in order given (4-quart salad bowl). Toss mushrooms with lemon juice before layering.

    Top with peas. Spread mayo as frosting over all.

    Seal to edges of bowl. Refrigerate overnight.

    Before serving, sprinkle with cheese and bacon.
