Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs (unbeaten)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. dairy sour cream
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. chopped unpeeled apples

    Cut butter into sugar; add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

    Blend in vanilla and sour cream.

    Sift together dry ingredients; add nuts.

    Combine with first mixture. Stir in apples.

    Pour into greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch pan or in 2 small loaf pans (batter is very thick).

    Bake in slow oven (325°) about 1 hour.
