  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. each: cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg

    Stir soda in applesauce.

    Cream shortening and brown sugar. Add applesauce and flour, alternately.

    Bake at 350° for 35 to 45 minutes.
