Asparagus Casserole

- 1 large can asparagus
- 2 c. cracker crumbs
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 lb. cheese (your choice)
- 1 c. finely chopped nuts (almonds or pecans)
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
Directions

1Drain asparagus, save liquid.

2Grate cheese and mix it with cracker crumbs.

3Mix liquid from asparagus tips with cream of mushroom soup.

4Put a thin layer of cracker and cheese mixture in bottom of greased 1 1/2 to 2-quart casserole.

5Add a layer of asparagus tips, sprinkle with nuts.

6Continue 2 layers; top with remaining cheese and cracker mixture.

7Pour soup over all.

8Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
