Barbecue Style Spanish Rice

  • 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup quick-cooking rice
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped green pepper
  • 1/4 cup minced onion
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Directions

    In a heavy 8 inch skillet combine all ingredients, stir to combine and dot mixture with butter.

    Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat to simmer.

    After 20 - 25 minutes fluff rice with a fork and serve.
