Ingredients

  • 1 red snapper (3 to 4 lb.)
  • 2 tsp. chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. fat
  • 2 tsp. brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. vinegar
  • 1/4 c. lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 tsp. Worcestershire
  • 1 c. catsup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • salt and pepper

    Clean fish and place in greased shallow pan.

    Brown onion in fat.

    Add brown sugar, vinegar, lemon juice, salt, Worcestershire sauce, catsup and water.

    Simmer 5 minutes.

    Sprinkle fish with salt and pepper and pour sauce over it. Bake at 425° for 10 minutes.

    Reduce heat to 350° and continue baking 35 to 45 minutes longer.
