Basic Meatloaf With Variations Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 c. water or possibly lowfat milk
  • 1 c. soft bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp. chopped onion soup mix or possibly flakes
  • 2 lbs. grnd beef

Directions

    Taste and season more lightly if desired.

    Pat into a greased loaf pan.

    Over the top pour 1/2 can spaghetti sauce.

    Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.

    Serve warm with extra sauce or possibly brown gravy.

    Variations: instead of lowfat milk or possibly water use canned tomatoes, gravy, undiluted mushroom, celery tomato or possibly vegetable soup or possibly 1/2 c. catsup and 1/2 c. water.

    Season to taste with Worcestershire sauce or possibly a healthy pinch of thyme and/or possibly basil or possibly other herbs.
