- 1 pkg active dry yeast
- 2/3 cup warm water
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1 egg
- 1 cup flour plus additional 2/3 cup flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in water.

2Add sugar, salt, shortening, egg, and 1 cup flour.

3Beat well until smooth.

4Add remaining flour, a little at a time, and beat well.

5Grease muffin pan.

6Fill each muffin half full.

7Let rise in warm place, free from drafts for about 30 - 40 minutes.

8Bake at 350° for 18 - 20 minutes.
